Meet the Board

While every member of the Divinity School is a voting member of the DSA, a board helps coordinate the functions of the Association and carry out its responsibilities. Each position is elected by the students of the Divinity School and can serve on the board for up to two years. New officers are elected during the spring quarter for the subsequent academic year.

Izak Santana, President

Izak Santana is an exams-level student who works primarily in constructive theology. His single personality trait is being Texan and his only interest is in living at the intersection of bad jokes and incredibly inopportune times.

Lydia Herndon, Vice President

Lydia Herndon is a third year PhD student in History of Christianity. When not reading and writing about early Christianity, she enjoys catching movies at Doc Films and testing new recipes (recent hits include coq au vin and sticky toffee pudding).

Nate Travis, Treasurer

Nate Travis is a first-year MDiv student interested in the intersections of American Pragmatism and the history and thought of Methodism/Wesleyanism, especially concerning sexuality and religious experience(s). His primary flaw: It is always unclear to him what his hands should be doing when a photo is being taken.

Avani Solanki, Secretary

Avani is a first-year MA student interested in folk religious practices in South Asia. Outside of the Divinity School, she can be found experimenting in the kitchen or cozying up on an armchair with hot chocolate and a good book!
